As a learning community, BCMS holds the following vision:  to, “develop intellectually reflective students who value learning, are intrepid in their pursuits, and support each other in becoming productive citizens in a global community.”  Although we are only one “leg” in our students’ academic journey, we view our students’ middle school years as not simply transitional, but crucial, in their odyssey to become contributing citizens, reap the joy of benevolent relationships, and realize personal fulfillment in their quest to accomplish their personal dreams.

It was the late Zig Ziglar who affirmed that, “What you get by reaching your destination is not nearly as important as what you will become by reaching your destination.”  At BCMS we are purposeful in our daily efforts to become . . . individually and collectively as a school. 

While a trail is typically defined as, “a path or track made across a wild region, over rough country, or the like,” we use the acronym T.R.A.I.L. to remind us that while on our “path” of becoming, we accept and recognize that the acquisition of knowledge takes Time, caring and constructive Relationships, a positive and resilient Attitude, and a personal Investment of effort for the Learning to occur that leads to a healthy and balanced life.
