BCMS students receive their YOU CAN tee shirts and then listen to Bob Mortimer speak about dignity, respect, and making good choices that will not "handy cap" their future. BOB . . . Be Our Best!!!

Persimmon fever has hit the BCMS ag classes. BCMS ag students took time to use a hand crank food mill to process persimmons into persimmon pulp. After discovering that maybe "it's not as easy as it looks", the students took the time to enjoy the fruits of their labor.

Mrs. Johnson's grade 6 social studies students engage in a “Walking Podcast” activity while enjoying the fall October morning.

BCMS Ag students enjoyed, or "tried to enjoy," arugula salad from their fall garden. Although a few students went back for seconds, most agreed one helping was enough. Arugula has a peppery and slightly bitter taste along with a distinct aroma that many weren't excited about :)

Today is National Custodian Day, also known as National Custodial Worker's Recognition Day. It is an annual day of appreciation for the custodians and janitors who keep our schools, workplaces, and other facilities clean, safe, and well-maintained. To our custodial staff here at BCMS: Richard, Jeff, Cindy, and Regina . . . THANK YOU!!!

BCMS students, who have been earning BRAVE Bucks through the first six weeks of the school year, visit the LMC where the BRAVE Buck Reward Store was set up and open for business last Friday. Earning BRAVE Bucks pays in more ways than one! Make good "Three R" decisions, and reap the reward!

Construction of the worm farm took place on Friday in Mr. Wischmeier's agriculture class. The composting farm will house 1000 red wigglers starting this week.

Mrs. Johnson’s students take time to simulate walking stairs as they reflect on 9/11 and those first responders who went into the towers.

BCMS 8th grade students participating in this fall's YoJack student cohort practice their public speaking skills as they tell a little about themselves and begin to get to know their new friends from the other Jackson County Schools!

Looking forward to fall, Mr. Wischmeier's agriculture students created a display for the classroom entryway.

Students from Mr. Wischmeier's agriculture class show off some flowers grown in the BCMS garden!

Integers don't intimidate Mrs. Schepman's math students!

Mrs. Schepman's grade 6 math students experience all the emotions one might have while in math class: confusion, trying, figuring out, frustrations, trying again, and success, all while learning communication, collaborating, and having fun!
