It is confirmed! BCMS is excited to announce that the girls track 4x400m relay team (Emme May, Emma Jackson, Karcynn Ray, and Olivia Darlage), in running a 4:31.16 at the regional middle school track meet at Columbus North HS last Saturday, set a new school record! The girls eclipsed the former handheld record of 4:31.0, when converted by rule to an automatic time of 4:31.24, by .08 seconds! CONGRATULATIONS LADIES!

Congratulations to the BCMS girls track 4x400m relay team (Emme May, Emma Jackson, Karcyn Ray, and Olivia Darlage) who qualified for the middle school state track meet this Saturday, May 23rd, at Indiana State by running a 4:31.16 at the regional middle school track meet at Columbus North HS on Saturday.

Congratulations to the BCMS boys track 4x400m relay team (Thaddeus Stidam, Jace Putz, Abram McCrary, and Jaxon Martarelli) who set a new school record (3:56.8) at the regional middle school track meet at Columbus North HS on Saturday. (The previous school record had stood since 1985!) The team qualified for the middle school state track meet this Saturday, May 23rd, at Indiana State!

Congratulations to the BCMS boys track 4x100m relay team (Aderes Pavlik, Jace Putz, Abram McCrary, and Jaxon Martarelli) who set a new school record (48.46s) at the regional middle school track meet at Columbus North HS on Saturday. The team qualified for the middle school state track meet this Saturday, May 23rd, at Indiana State!

The middle school agriculture classes have been busy working the past two month getting their 2026 garden off to a good start. Currently, the students are raising cotton, marigolds, potatoes, pumpkins, kale, sweet corn, Indian corn, popcorn, green beans, cucumbers, peppers, sunflowers, gourds, arugula, and peas. From hot and dry, to cold and wet, the BCMS students have worked to keep things "growing" in the right direction!

Ms. Neal's 7th grade social studies classes are currently studying North Africa. Because BCCSC's Library Media Specialist, Ms. Yoho, lived there for a time, she brought several items for the kids to see as she shared her experiences.


Congratulations to the BCMS Intermediate Band who earned gold at the ISSMA organizational at Highland Hills Middle School this past weekend! This final achievement qualifies the BCMS band for the ISSMA All-Music Award!!


Thank you to Brian Covert and REMC for their donation of mulch for the BCMS ag classes. The mulch will used for a pumpkin patch later this year.

BCCSC schools will be operating on a two hour delay schedule on Monday, March 2nd.

BCCSC schools will observe a third eLearning day on Thursday, January 29, 2026.

BCCSC schools will, again, observe an eLearning day on Wednesday, January 28, 2026.

Brownstown Central Community School Corporation schools will be closed on Monday, January 26, 2026.

After visiting BCHS on Thursday morning, the 8th grade class visited the North Lawrence Career Center on Friday morning to learn about their course offerings.


8th grade students, (Class of 2030) visit BCHS to begin thinking about their freshman classes and high school coursework plan.



BCMS 8th grade science students learn how pollutants travel through groundwater to our wells, lakes and streams.

While studying water conservation, 8th grade BCMS students collected water from a dripping faucet for 1 minute. After calculations, this group determined that 8,218 gallons of water would be wasted in year.
